Hemlow awarded large scale arts and entertainment contract in the North

Written by Nina Brown

Hemlow are pleased to announce that they have been awarded a 3-year maintenance contract for Sheffield Museums Trust. An independent charity that cares for the city’s leading museums and heritage sites, containing collections of art, human and industrial history, and natural science.

Awarded via competitive tender, Hemlow will now provide planned preventative maintenance services and life cycle planning for the following three sites, in addition to the Trust’s off site Collections store

  • Millennium Gallery
  • Weston Park
  • Leader House

Hemlow will be working closely with Sheffield Museums Trust to deliver a high quality, consistent service across the four museums in the portfolio, focusing on sustainability and energy improvements. In addition to this we will be working to provide a transparent service, with minimal disruption to both staff and visitors to the museums.

Working with a flexible approach, Hemlow’s Technical team will be working, with client input, to meet their needs, manage risk, provide energy improvement recommendations and generate life cycle reports to assist with budget management.

“We are delighted to be awarded this prestigious portfolio. I have no doubt that the service from our growing operations team in the north will benefit both the museums and the public as they enjoy day trips viewing the exhibitions on offer”.

Chris Ward, Managing Director, Hemlow

‘Ensuring our buildings are running effectively and efficiently is an important part of providing a great experience for the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come through our doors. We’re very much looking forward to working with Hemlow to care for the museums over the next three years.

Jim Lowe, Head of Operations, Sheffield Museums Trust
