Elevating Knowledge & Connections at The Gherkin
At the end of April, we brought together facilities management professionals and surveyors from across the UK for our first CPD event of 2025, which was hosted on the iconic 38th floor of The Gherkin. Attendees enjoyed panoramic views of London while engaging in insightful sessions designed to elevate industry knowledge and build valuable connections.

Session Highlights at The Gherkin
- An Overview of HVAC Systems
During the first session, we dived into the fundamentals of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, exploring their components and functionalities to improve comfort and reduce energy.
- Improving the Performance of Commercial Buildings
This second session focused on strategies to enhance building efficiency, discussing topics such as reviewing plant & usage, record keeping, strategies and monitoring equipment to improve your overall building performance.
Networking with a View
Once both sessions concluded, attendees came together at the IRIS Bar, located on the top floor of The Gherkin. The venue offered stunning panoramic views of London’s iconic skyline, creating an impressive and inspiring setting. It was a great opportunity for everyone to relax, reflect on the day’s discussions, and share insights in an informal environment. The gathering also provided a valuable chance to network, build new connections, and strengthen relationships with fellow industry professionals in a scenic and comfortable atmosphere.
