Summary

Onslow House is a multi-tenant commercial building in Guildford that relies heavily on its cooling system to keep staff and visitors comfortable. The building had been experiencing repeated cooling failures because one of its two chillers had reached the point where it could no longer operate. This meant the whole building had to rely on a single chiller that could not meet demand, causing discomfort and frustration for tenants.

The client appointed a replacement project for Chiller 2 so the building could regain full cooling capacity. The new unit uses a low GWP A2L R32 refrigerant, which helps lower its environmental impact due to its low refrigerant volume.

All work was planned carefully, with the crane lift organised during quiet periods, so the building could remain occupied throughout. Critical tasks took place outside normal hours so tenants were not affected and disruptions could be kept to a minimal.
