After a very strange 18 months of Microsoft Teams calls, social distancing and face masks, it was great to finally be able to bring the whole company together for a day of fun!
On Sunday 15th August we hosted our annual company event and welcomed our employees, along with their families at Stoke Place in Slough.
With activities for all ages, from bouncy castles, a kids entertainer and adult jousting the day was a great success! The drinks were flowing all day and guests enjoyed a variety of different food options including a BBQ and pizza from ‘The Land Doughver’, a specially converted Land Rover with its own pizza oven! This was a great experience for the guests, as they got to watch their pizza’s being made and cooked right in front of their eyes..
Soon after, the specially hired ice cream van pulled up, turning the heads of both the kids and the adults! It’s safe to say that this went down a treat with everyone, along with the candyfloss machine.
After some food, the first of the HemFest competitions were quickly underway on our ‘Last Person Standing’ inflatable. Crowds gathered around to take up the challenge and see if they could beat the sweeper and walk away a champ! After multiple rounds, our winner was Ollie Dawes, Assistant Estimator, proudly claiming his prize.
Teams also took to the ‘Gladiator Joust’ to test their skills against colleagues throughout the day.
Next up was Rounders which once again drew massive crowds, everybody eager to try and claim the second prize of HemFest. The competition was fierce as we split Teams into regions. After a great game with a close result, Sevenoaks took home the prize of the Mark Mercer trophy.
On the day we continued to raise money for our company charity, Mind. A raffle was hosted, with the prize being an overnight stay at the Stoke Place hotel, this was won by our Customer Service Manager, Bogdan Gruia. Along with this, employees made donations to participate in ‘Guess the weight of the sweet jar’, with Elizabeth Lyon, Key Account Manager having the closest guess!
As the guests left with their bellies full and happily exhausted from all the challenges, it was clear that everybody had thoroughly enjoyed the day of fun with music, entertainment and activities. We can’t wait to host the next Team Hemlow event, thank you to everyone who attended and made the day unforgettable! #TeamHemlow
